Working with school systems and universities, medical facilities and office buildings, as well as numerous public buildings, Mason & Barry's variety of customized solutions for temperature control, ventilation, security and a variety of monitoring solutions have been utilized throughout West Virginia to enhance energy conservation and create comfortable environments for their occupants.
When Mary C. Snow - West Side Elementary in Charleston, WV, opened in 2011, it was designed to be a 21st Century school with technology at the forefront. Students, parent, educators and administrators alike were excited to experience a learning environment that was designed with technology at its center. While technology applications are clearly visible in the classrooms, many behind the scenes features at the time of its occupancy made this school like no other in the state.
The West Virginia State Archives building is located in the Culture Center at the State Capitol Complex in Charleston, WV. Each year, thousands of visitors view the historical exhibits and participate in a variety of activities and performances in the building. The State Archives houses documents and many one-of-a-kind artifacts from West Virginia's glorious history. Mason & Barry serves the Archives by providing state-of-the art video surveillance and access systems to protect the many priceless relics and displays housed in the facility.
The Bureau of Public Debt building Parkersburg, WV, houses hundreds of federal employees. The agency is responsible for borrowing the funds needed to maintain and operate the federal government and to account for the resulting debt. The bureau's primary job is selling Treasury bills, notes and federal bonds. One of the primary responsibilities of the Parkersburg office is the administration and accounting of all U.S. Savings Bonds that are sold nationwide. The data center at the Parkersburg BPD installation has long been served by the many Leibert, Schneider Electric and other products provided and serviced by Mason & Barry.------------
St Mary's Medical Center is the largest medical facility in Huntington, Cabell County's largest private employer with 2,600+ employees and, with 393 beds, it is among the states largest health-care facilities. In association with Marshall University, St. Mary's trains medical residents in several specialties as well as housing a School of Nursing, School of Medical Imaging and School of Respiratory Care. St. Mary's also houses Centers of Excellence in Cardiac Care, Cancer Treatment, Emergency/Trauma services, Neuroscience and Orthopedics. Mason & Barry provides equipment for the hospital's central HVAC system, access controls and environmental controls.
Charleston Area Medical Center is a non-profit 838-bed regional referral and academic medical center with more than 6,000 employees. It is composed of three hospitals and has one of the highest volume heart programs in the United States. It is the only kidney transplant center in West Virginia, has the state's highest level trauma center and has the only freestanding children's hospital in West Virginia. CAMC also houses comprehensive cancer care services and many other medical specialties. Mason & Barry has worked with CAMC to install customized controls, Chilled Beam systems in patient rooms and various other equipment to monitor the hospitals operation, improve energy efficiency and maintain patient comfort.
King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY, is a locally controlled, not-for-profit regional referral center with 465 beds. KDMC offers comprehensive cardiac, medical, surgical, pediatric, rehabilitative, psychiatric, cancer, neurological, pain care, wound care and home-care services to a community that extends well over a 150-mile radius. Mason & Barry serves KDMC by supplying HVAC equipment, controls and environmental equipment for their data center.
Alcon Research Ltd. in Huntington, WV, is the global leader in eye care with facilities throughout the world. The company develops and manufactures innovative medicines and devices to serve the full life cycle of eye-care needs, offering surgical, pharmaceutical and vision care products to treat many eye diseases and conditions. Mason & Barry has worked to help Alcon solve the problems associated with providing a comfortable work environment in their laboratories while maintaining the "clean" spaces essential to protect a germ-free work environment in which sterile medical products are being developed.
